Yule predates the Christmas holiday by thousands of years. Yule celebrations included bonfires, decorations with holly, and tree branches, parties, rituals and gifts. In the past, some performed rituals with sacrifices, but we must celebrate rituals without sacrifices, without killing animals, as the sun does not need someone to suffer for it to reappear in great fullness.
